Sales…not just for business anymore…
When most people hear the term ‘sales’ they think business…retail sales, grocery sales, home sales, car sales (yuck!), and as a business coach, I have a lot of people who hire me to help them increase sales…as in, help them to make more money. That’s really cool, because I love Sales!
See, I love helping people to achieve the lives of their dreams, and that takes ‘sales’…but when I say ‘sales’ I get all different pictures in my mind…
Of course some folks want to grow their businesses, and I love those ‘sales’, for sure! I can help them figure out who their ideal client really is, and show them how tailor their offering to completely and authentically meet their needs, while buying into themselves, without selling out to anyone. I can also help them make the big mindset shifts around follow up and asking for the sale…two things that so many people HATE! And I’m all about recognizing the true value of their offering (which is different from anyone else’s, no matter what you may have heard), and more importantly, comfortably and confidently being able to ask for, and get, prices that reflect that value. If they can’t see the value in their offering, no one else will either.
Public speaking is another form of ‘sales’ that I just love. What some people see as standing up in front of a bunch of strangers, and hoping against hope to not mess up…I see as sharing a message that I am passionate about, with friends and colleagues I just haven’t met yet. Not quite there yet? Oh don’t worry…it wasn’t all that long ago that I was terrified to speak in front of even a small group, but I learned to turn that around, and I can teach you to, as well. Do I still mess up? Sure, but that’s just part of being human and being me 🙂
But the most important ‘sales’ I help people with are those that happen in the other areas of our lives and relationships…and no, I don’t mean buying friends 🙂 I’m talking about the day to day, sometimes minute to minute, ‘self sales’ transactions that happen in just everything we do. In every interaction we have with other humans, and even just with ourselves, we unconsciously place values our bodies, our feelings, our thoughts, and our ideas. And just like in the classic sales situation, we can’t expect others to place more value on these things than we do. From increasing self love, to improving your relationships with your spouse / kids / parents (living or not!), to asking for a promotion, or asking for the sale…your first or your million and first…I can help you.
